Hi! I’m Hikari, baker at Våg Bakeri. It all started from a 42sqm apartment in 2019 when I moved to Bergen from Japan. Våg was a sourdough bread caterer. Now, here we are: Japanese-Scandinavian bakery in Bergen.
What began as a love for the craft of sourdough has grown into a passion for blending traditions and flavors from Japan and countries all over the world, -especially Scandinavia.
I am starting to call Bergen home after traveling around the world. I also long for creative, pioneering minds I found in Japanese bakeries. Steal ideas and techniques from abroad, and breathe life into something new and detailed.
At our bakery, we take pride in offering a unique selection of baked goods that celebrate this fusion. Sourdough bread: crafted with ancient grain flour, delivering wholesome flavor and texture.
